THE candidates who will be standing in a District Council by election have been announced.

The Sevenoaks District Council by election for the Swanley St Mary’s ward will take place on February 19.

Paul Golding will be standing for the British National Party.

Mike Hogg for the Labour Party, and Tony Harry Searles for The Conservative Party.

The by election was announced following the resignation of Lesley Dyball in November last year.

Anyone who would like to vote by post have until 5pm on February 4 to make an application, or 5pm on February 11 to submit a proxy application.

Only people whose names are included on the register of electors will be able to vote.

Residents who are not on the register but would like to have their say in the Swanley by election, must register by February 4.
