A TEENAGER remains in a critical condition in hospital after a fatal car crash in St Paul’s Cray on Sunday morning (January 25).

Grant Holland, 17, was pulled from a burning Honda Civic just after midnight after it collided with a Ford Mondeo, travelling in the opposite direction.

Police say the teenager is in a critical but stable condition in a south London hospital.

The driver and back-seat passenger of the stolen Civic, 18-year-old Jay Sonny-Barry and Larry Hall, 17, both from St Paul's Cray, died after the accident in St Paul’s Cray Road.

Following the crash, the teenagers' car came to a rest on a verge at the side of the road before bursting into flames.

Members of the public helped pull the three teenagers clear of the car before emergency services arrived.

The 61-year-old driver of the Mondeo suffered multiple injuries but his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

The green Civic had been stolen from Leesons Way in St Paul’s Cray at about 11pm on Saturday (January 24).

Police say they are now awaiting post-mortem examination results while they continue their investigation into the crash.

Sergeant Jon Webb said: “This is a tragic incident that has dramatically affected four families and it is of vital importance for them that anyone with information contacts us immediately.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the green Y-registration Honda being driven in the St Paul’s Cray area in the lead up to the collision, or who was in the Leesons Way area at around 11pm on Saturday night.”
