MOTOR cyclists who ride off-road are being warned to keep out of parks.

Dartford Council has issued a warning that it will take all steps necessary to protect public spaces in the town.

It follows an incident were two motorbikes being ridden off-road through Darenth Country Park were seized by north Kent police.

Councillor Jeremy Kite, leader of Dartford Council, says he has encouraged officers to crack down on this nuisance and wants to see more unlawfully ridden bikes taken off the road.

Cllr Kite said: “We have some beautiful parks and green spaces in Dartford and off-road bikers must understand it is not just a bit of harmless fun to ride there.”

The offence can lead to the motorbike being seized and the council will be putting in place other measures to deter bikes, including gates and barriers.
