I clearly remember the pop decades of the 1960s.
At the start it was mainly solo vocalists. Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard and Adam Faith were famous. Then, in late 1962, The Beatles made their first record, Love Me Do.
It was heard on Radio Luxembourg as there was no other pop channel on the radio.
Did anyone realise then how much of an impact the group would make?
Just a year later my future husband and I managed to get two tickets for a Beatles concert at Lewisham Odeon.
It was pure bedlam. The noise was unbelievable and it was impossible to hear one word the group either said or sang. Several girls fainted and my partner was unable to hear properly for several days due to screams from the girl seated behind him.
I was 17 then but 40 years on, I clearly recall that evening.
