PLANS for a vital tube link were back in court because of one man’s hopes to save a goods yard.
The East London Line Extension (ELLX), which would run through New Cross Gate, Brockley, Honour Oak Park, Forest Hill, Sydenham and Crystal Palace, once again faces crisis after legal wrangling over the past 18 months.
In May, the High Court overthrew an injunction against the demolition of Bishopsgate Goodsyard, providing conditions to protect a viaduct were put in place.
But the East End market trader, who had obtained the injunction to protect the goods yard, challenged the decision The Court of Appeal sat for three days last week to consider the market trader’s appeal.
A decision is expected in the next three weeks.
