Eighteen mature Wyborne pupils recently returned to school for the first time in 44 years.
The reunion was the idea of former pupils John Hopgood and Richard Fletcher.
Current Wyborne headteacher Sheila Lancefield supported it and, with the help of the PTA, a gathering was held in the school’s infants’ hall.
A tour of the New Eltham school revealed changes to the buildings. Some had been demolished and a new block now joins the village school to the main school.
Next year is the main school building’s centenary and May 11, 2004, has been pencilled in for another reunion for the 1959 leavers.
