FLYTIPPERS fled when the lorry they were using to dump rubbish in a field toppled over.
The 20-tonne vehicle was found blocking the entrance to the field on Saltbox Hill, Biggin Hill.
Dumped garden waste and rubble were found next to the lorry and council workers had to use hydraulic equipment to haul the vehicle back onto its wheels.
The council impounded the lorry after failing to contact its owners to arrange the vehicle’s removal.
Owner of the field Alan Rowland, 41, of Monks Orchard Road, Beckenham, told News Shopper he feels the flytippers got what they deserved.
The father-of-two said: “These jokers were obviously dumping rubbish but they got it totally wrong because they didn’t use the hydraulic supports to balance the lorry.” A council spokesman says if the owners of the lorry do not contact the council and agree to meet the costs of its removal the vehicle may have to be auctioned.
