THE artistic talents of pupils have gained them a golden accolade from the Arts Council.
Gordon Primary School, The Craigton Road, Eltham, is the first school in the borough to receive an Artsmark Gold award.
The school was rewarded for dedication in literature, performing arts, visual arts and the media.
Judges were particularly impressed with the 50-piece band, which has played at numerous events, including the Crownwood’s Dance and Greenwich Music Festivals.
Cabinet member for education Councillor David Grant said: “The school has put a lot of effort into developing art and music in its pupils “Clearly there is a lot of talent.
“I hope it will be possible to continue this excellent work.”
