A MOTORIST was banned from driving for three years after he was found behind the wheel while nearly twice the legal limit.
David Williams, aged 42, of Thanet House, Gravesend, pleaded guilty to drink-driving, but said he only drank one pint half an hour before being stopped in Whitehill Road on May 3.
Tests at the police station showed he had 68 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Williams had previously been disqualified for a year for drink-driving so Dartford magistrates had to ban him for at least three years on June 10.
He was fined £150 and a further £10 for failing to appear in court on a previous date.
He was also ordered to pay £69 costs.
