Many people who have splashed out on the latest camera-equipped mobile phones are finding themselves left high and dry as friends and family are slow to take up the new technology. But there is a new website where you can make the most of your posh new moby, writes CHRIS STEEL ...

WEBLOGS or “blogs” have taken off massively in the past six months, with everyone from B-list celebrities, to eye-witnesses to the Iraqi conflict, to your next door neighbour making their observations and opinions globally available online.

And in the true spirit of the saying that “a picture paints a thousand words” the photo messaging and third generation video enabled mobile phones which have recently hit the market are developing the art of blogging.

www.20six.co.uk is leading the way in “moblogging”, “photologging” or “vlogging”, where the owners of the new mobiles can send their pictures to either add material to their weblogs on the site, or just to set up a gallery of pictures for their, and other’s, perusal.

A spokesman for the site said: “20six is a website for anyone wanting to publish a weblog, or an online journal, on the Internet.

“You can publish whenever you want, whatever you want and from wherever you want.

“20six provides the technology to write and publish your own journal.

“We’re a group of excited and talented (if we say so ourselves) people in London, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Paris who are captivated by weblogs.

“We believe everyone will soon have a weblog and we want to play our part in making that happen.

“We’re here to provide you with the best service possible.” “There are 26 letters in the alphabet. It is a simple system with endless combinations: those 26 letters created Justin’s lyrics, Shakespeare’s plays and the menu at your local pizza restaurant.

“We hope people find our 20six is as easy and versatile as that.”
