HOW great would it be to walk down a street which you have named?
That is the chance on offer to anyone under the age of 18 who lives or goes to school in Welling.
The town currently has three roads, all named Station Approach, which is confusing, to say the least. It makes life difficult for the postman, the emergency services and visitors.
Now the Welling Town Partnership has launched a competition to rename two of the roads.
Partnership chairman Peter Baylis said: “Young people are often blamed for the faults of a minority and we want to give them opportunities to show what they can do for themselves and their town, to contribute in the long term and be proud of their achievements.” The two winners will each also get vouchers worth £50.
To enter just write your suggested new road name, with a short explanation of why, and send it with your name and address to Alison Harris, Assistant Town Centre Manager, Broadway Shopping Centre, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA6 7JN. The deadline is July 25.
