KNOW YOUR AREA: Free information packs about Sydenham and Forest Hill town centres are now available. The packs, funded by Lewisham Council and Crystal Palace Partnership Single Regeneration Budget, include maps, business directories, sites of interest, local history and events. EDITING THE BARD: Blackheath High School teacher Dinah Jurksaitis has become the general editor of a new series of student editions of Shakespeare plays, published by educational publisher Nelson Thornes. Mrs Jurksaitis, who writes and publishes poetry, has been teaching English at the school for 14 years.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 11.17pm on June 5 and managed to contain the fire to the bathroom.
