OWN A HOUSE?: During the past financial year, Greenwich Council has brought 53 empty homes back into use. This year, it has set itself a target of 70 properties. TIME TO SPARE?: Volunteering Lewisham has become the first bureau of its kind in the country to launch a text messaging service. The new initiative, designed to appeal to all residents who want to get active in the community, was launched as part of Volunteers’ Week. To get active, text the word “more” to 07890 922534.
