A COUPLE who built an extension to their home without planning permission were forced to pay more than £400 at Dartford Magistrates’ Court.
Hassan Karamanli and wife, Havva, of Burnham Road, Dartford, built an extension which was different to the one for they were granted permission for.
The couple submitted another planning application but it was refused. The unauthorised work was taken down by the time the couple appeared in court so they avoided a fine of up to £20,000.
Magistrates gave them one year’s conditional discharge and ordered them to pay £202.80 each in costs.
