HOUSEHOLDERS with burglar alarms are being urged to enter their names into a new keyholder database.
The Met Police Commissioner Sir John Stevens is writing to every home and business in the capital about the scheme. People who live in properties with audible alarms are already required to notify the council of keyholders’ details.
Under the new system, Londoners will register centrally with the Met instead of their local authority or police station. As well as a basic database, householders can register for a premium service, which offers details of plumbers, glaziers and allows details to be changed online.
