SHARK APPEAL: A national appeal has been launched for a shark costume. The Earthwatch charity wants to borrow the costume to raise money for its conservation project for the British basking shark. The suit will be worn on the sponsored Great Scottish Walk on June 21. Call 01865 318851.
MUSIC EVENT: Players of all musical instruments are being invited to play together. Methodist Church, College Road, will play host to the event on July 5 from 2pm. Rehearsals will take place until 5pm and will be followed by a two-hour performance. Call 020 8658 9771.
