DETECTIVES who raided a 19-year-old man’s home found an indoor cannabis farm and £3,000.
Jamie Miller, of Castlecombe Road, Mottingham, was growing 29 plants in his bedroom, Croydon Crown Court heard.
The keen footballer, who was working as a gardener at the time, originally denied intending to supply the drug.
When officers searched his room, they found the cash in the top of a chest of drawers together with a list of names.
They also discovered various quantities of cannabis in herbal and resin form.
Defending, Kieron Galvin said the hydroponic equipment could not be regarded as professional.
Miller admitted possession with intent to supply.
Sentencing him to 12 months youth detention, Judge Cedric Joseph said: “You were caught red-handed and had very little option but to plead guilty.”
