THREE bogus callers ran off with a pensioner’s handbag containing £1,000 after saying they were from the water board.

The men claimed they needed to turn the water supply off in her home in Balmoral Road, Sutton-at-Hone, but the woman became suspicious and ordered them out.

A neighbour chased them but they sped off in a silver Renault.

The men were all white, aged around 19 or 20 and of medium build.

One had short blond hair, an Irish accent and wore a grey T-shirt.

The others were both around 5ft 10in tall. One had short brown hair and the other had shaved blond hair.
