THE NORTH KENT FEDERATION OF TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILDS The North Kent Federation of Townswomen’s Guilds held a Summer Luncheon on Friday, June 6 at the Danson Park Boat House Function Rooms, Welling.
It was an excellent lunch enjoyed by all, and was followed by a Speaker, Ms Maggie Stredder, who gave a lively and interesting talk on her life with the Vernon Girls. This was a Choir which was attached to the Vernon Pools Company. The Choir worked with the BBC and many famous artist’s and appeared at the Palladium and also formed a duo with one of the girls and sang as back up with many singers and was the vocal interest of many of the adverts on TV, an enjoyable and interesting time.
The Federation consists of Bexleyheath Afternoon, Bexleyheath Morning, Dartford Central, Eltham Afternoon, Eltham Park Afternoon, Lee Evening, Mottingham Evening, Welling Evening, Blackfen Afternoon and Blackheath Evening.
