A SCHEME which helps people with mental health problems reached the final of a competition organised by the Government’s London Modernisation Awards.
South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (Slam) was commended for its project which allows sufferers to interact with the community.
The Time Bank initiative, in Deptford and New Cross, gives people credits for public- spirited acts and lets them exchange these for services.
Participants collect points by providing services such as dog walking, befriending others or setting up social events.
The awards were held at the Royal College of Physicians on May 13.
