A TEENAGER beaten unconscious more than a week ago has made little improvement in hospital after suffering serious head and facial injuries.

Doctors fear the 18-year-old man, who was attacked by three men in King Edward Avenue, Dartford, may not fully recover.

The victim, who has not been named, has come round but was described by police as showing “minimal response”.

He was spotted in a brawl with three men outside Tony’s Fish Bar, Spital Street, at around 2am on May 31.

All four ran off in opposite directions but met up again on King Edward Avenue shortly afterwards and the fight then continued.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Nick Brown said: “The incident has left a young man who had his whole life ahead of him with very serious head injuries and could have led to his death if it hadn’t been for the presence of mind of the public who came to help him.” One man appeared at Dartford magistrates, in connection with the attack last Friday.

Two other men have been arrested but released on bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the fight outside the fish bar or saw men running from the town centre towards King Edward Avenue should call DC Brown on 01322 283154 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
