AS THE investigation into a fatal accident in Slade Green continues, police are appealing for the occupants of a car seen nearby to come forward.

Gemma Rolfe, 12, of Cornwallis Close, Erith, was killed when the Suzuki Vitara, in which she was a front-seat passenger, collided with a white Maestro van at the junction of Canada Road and Slade Green Road at around 7.15pm on May 19.

Police believe a red car was in the area at the time and would like to speak to the driver and any occupants.

After the crash, the Suzuki careered off course into the path of a BMW in Slade Green Road. Despite braking, the BMW driver was unable to avoid being hit.

Police are also looking for witnesses to a crash in Bridge Road, Slade Green, on May 9 at around 7.45am.

In the accident, an elderly woman passenger was trapped in one of the cars and Kate Golding, 13, had her knee shattered. Kate was waiting for a bus to Erith School when one of the cars careered into the bus stop. Her family are supporting a petition for action to slow down the traffic.
