THESE are exciting times at News Shopper.
As our newest blogger Alison has already said, this week marks the start of a new web-first era for us.
The future of journalism is digital and the future of newspapers lies in their ability to adapt to the internet age.
Our transformation into a web-first organisation will involve many things over a long period of time.
For now, we have signalled our intentions with a revamp of the sports pages in the newspapers to shift more of the focus on to our website.
We are also aiming to get breaking, current, up-to-date news on to our site as quickly as possible.
We have already been doing this to a large extent – and I have yet to see a better news site covering this part of the world – but from this week we are aiming to do even more of it, and to do it even better.
Two of our journalists – Alison White and Sara Nelson – have been appointed web-first reporters, and we are changing the way we work to provide the best news coverage seven days a week.
As with everything we do, your feedback, suggestions and comments are welcome.
Welcome to the web-first News Shopper – home of the fastest and finest news service across south east London and north Kent.
