A KIDBROOKE science teacher has got the right reaction for his work in promoting chemistry.
Hither Green resident Andrew Smythe, 33, was proclaimed the third-best chemistry teacher in the country for his work as a teacher at Thomas Tallis school in Kidbrooke Park Road.
The Salters award, which has been presented every year since 1918, puts chemistry teachers through rigorous teaching and theoretical procedures by science experts.
In their conclusion, the judges said they had an extremely difficult time in separating the top three and Andrew was given the bronze medal.
Deputy headteacher Mr Spyros Elia said: "It is gratifying to have teachers of such calibre giving chemistry lessons of the highest order at Thomas Tallis. Many congratulations to Andy Smythe, we are all very proud of him."
