A CONTAINER load of crockery worth more than £55,000 has been stolen from a Belvedere lorry depot.
The opportunist thieves were caught on CCTV searching the depot on Norman Road, Belvedere, for a valuable load to steal.
The thieves took the lorry cab with its container and trailer at about 9.40pm on December 22.
The following morning the lorry cab was found abandoned and burnt out in a lay-by in Higham.
Police believe the thieves had another cab unit, which they attached to the trailer before driving it away. The trailer and container were found abandoned on December 28 near Croydon.
PC Philip Shaw from Bexleyheath police said he would like to hear from anyone who is offered a dinner set similar to the ones stolen or who has any other information.
Call Bexleyheath CID on 020 8284 9820.
