POLICE officers who helped resuscitate a prisoner have been awarded commendation certificates.
The officers were given their certificates at a ceremony at The Warren sports club, in Croydon Road, Hayes, for their handling of a prisoner who collapsed on March 8 at Bromley police station.
It was later found the man, who had been arrested for suspected assault, had taken a number of ecstasy tablets and a large amount of alcohol.
Sergeant Simon Bradley, PC Geoffrey Martin, PC Jane Pearman, PC Deborah Corbett and PC Stephen Northam displayed various skills, such as "leadership" and "communication", in helping to revive the prisoner.
Dr Barbara Lewis, who is on the police call-out list of GPs, gave the prisoner oxygen and showed "exceptional professional skills in maintaining resuscitation and providing treatment throughout a highly stressful situation".
An ambulance took the man to Bromley Hospital where he made a full recovery.
