I feel I must respond to your article regarding Darrick Wood School banning Sharon Challis from wearing trousers for school.
It would appear her mother has achieved what scientists all over the world have been baffled with for years. She has discovered the cure for the common cold.
Apparently, all you have to do is wear a pair of trousers. According to her, if her daughter wears a skirt in cold weather, she gets a cold, but, by some miracle, if she wears trousers, she doesn't.
Has no one ever told her that you catch a cold by coming in contact with the cold germ, usually through the mouth or nose. Perhaps she wears the trousers over her head!
By the way, apparently the cure only applies to girls. I have been wearing trousers for over 60 years but it hasn't stopped me from catching the odd cold.
I think a better excuse for wanting to wear trousers should be found, until then, stick to the school rules!
