BROMLEY Council has revamped its cycle training courses in a bid to increase safety.

Bicycles are checked for safety and helmets must be warn as part of the new safety measures.

The training runs over three days and is split into five sessions. Like the driving test, it includes a theory paper with 25 multiple choice questions.

Head of Road Safety at Bromley Council John Walton said: “We have altered our courses as we need to train our child cyclists to ride as safely as they can. We have incorporated feedback from parents and have made the course longer, so children get more training and experience of riding on the road.”
