SITTING PRETTY: Children try out the new benches while co-ordinator Hayley Cann (left) and Maureen Kemp look on. Celebrations got into full swing on Thursday when tots and parents got together to mark two years of Swanscombe's Under One Roof Early Years Centre, in Swanscombe Street. The centre provides a host of facilities for children under five and offers parents guidance in child development and parenting skills. To mark the birthday, two garden seats were dedicated at the school's grounds. One was dedicated to Maureen Kemp for her commitment to both the centre and the community, while the other was in memory of Laurence Gandy who, as director of North West Kent Community Voluntary Service, worked to develop the original idea into bricks and mortar.
