Every day we hear the tale
of the saga of British Rail.
People pay their fare at the station
not knowing when they will get to their destination.
This all came about through personal greed
despite being told it would not succeed.
Professional men were given the sack
to be replaced by the sham called Railtrack.
Maybe BR was not all that good
but most of the public understood.
First we had silly daft motives
then we were short of men to drive the locomotives.
One of these days they may learn to their cost
the wrath of the public whose support they lost.
Who have to suffer and to battle
to get to work whilst being treated like cattle.
