Guides in greater London have a new commissioner.
She is Alison Bruce, who was divisional commissioner for Orpington and an adviser to the county on community action events. She also runs a senior section unit specialising in the Duke of Edinburgh awards.
Previously, Mrs Bruce ran a Brownie pack and been a district commissioner.
She was welcomed into her new job by retiring commissioner Pat Tiley, who also thanked her for her contribution to guiding in greater London. Mrs Tiley will continue to work for the Guides at local and national level.
Anyone who would like to know more about becoming a Guide leader should call the Bexley and Bromley hotline on 01689 856054.
