A PLUMSTEAD centenarian celebrated her birthday with a new circle of friends.
Daisy Edwards lived a solitary existence until she was introduced to the Richard Neve House Lunch Club last autumn by an Age Concern befriender.
Miss Edwards enjoyed the company so much she moved into the sheltered housing at the Plumstead High Street site and will have a commemorative bench placed in the lunch club's garden following her 100th birthday party.
Executive member for neighbourhood renewal and housing Councillor Angela Cornforth said: βIt was a privilege to meet Daisy and hear about her life.β
