An Orpington man who was caught by paedophile hunters has avoided prison.
Matthew Nott, 35, pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Between November 30 and December 3 last year, Nott sent sexual messages to who he believed to be an young girl.
Court documents state that he asked for inappropriate photos and expressed sexual thoughts about the child for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification.
The account he was speaking to was a decoy run by paedophile hunters, who confronted him at his home on December 3.
Nott pleaded guilty to the offence at Bromley Magistrates' Court in July.
At the same court on Thursday (September 3) he was given a sentence of 6 months' imprisonment suspended for 12 months.

He was ordered to register with the police for 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £154 surcharge.
The payments will be made in monthly instalments of £50, starting from October 1.
