Homes have been left without water after a supply disruption across the Eltham area.

The issue, which began on August 17, has left residents in SE9 without water or experiencing low pressure.

Footscray Road has also been affected by flooding linked to the disruption.

Thames Water has apologised for the inconvenience and said a specialist team was dispatched to investigate and restore normal service.

A spokesman for Thames Water said: "We’re sorry if your tap water isn’t running at the moment.

"We’re aware of an issue in the area that's affecting the customers in the SE9 area.

"Our specialist team is enroute to the area to investigate the cause of disruption and restore the flow of your water supply.

"We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can."

By 9.15am, Thames Water confirmed that temporary measures had been put in place to help restore water supplies while work on a permanent repair was underway.

However, some customers may continue to experience low pressure as the network gradually recovers.

The company is delivering bottled water to those on its Priority Services Register who are considered water-dependent and at highest risk of losing supply.

Thames Water encouraged anyone with additional needs to register for the scheme to receive extra support during future disruptions.

Repair teams remain in the area working to complete the permanent repair and maintain water supplies throughout the recovery process.
