Students across south east London have received their A-level results, with new figures revealing how different local areas compared on the proportion of entries awarded top grades.
Ofqual data shows Southwark recorded the highest proportion of A-level entries awarded an A or A* among the areas covered by the News Shopper.
It was followed by Bromley, Lewisham, Bexley and Greenwich, while Dartford also featured in the figures.
Southwark recorded the highest result among the local areas, with 43.8 per cent of A-level entries awarded an A or A*.

That was slightly lower than the 44.4 per cent recorded in 2025, a fall of 0.6 percentage points.
In Bromley, 29.6 per cent of A-level entries received an A or A*.
The figure was almost unchanged from last year, when 29.8 percent of entries received the top grades.
Lewisham recorded 27.1 per cent of A-level entries receiving an A or A*. This was an increase from 26.3 per cent in 2025, representing a rise of 0.8 percentage points.
In Bexley, 24.1 per cent of A-level entries were awarded an A or A*. That was up from 23.2 per cent last year, an increase of 0.9 percentage points.
Greenwich saw 23.6 per cent of A-level entries receive an A or A*. This was an increase on the 22.5 per cent recorded in 2025, with the proportion rising by 1.1 percentage points.
Dartford recorded 20 per cent of A-level entries receiving an A or A* this year. That was up from 19.7 per cent in 2025, representing a 0.3 percentage point increase.
Of the six areas, Greenwich recorded the biggest year-on-year increase, with the proportion of entries awarded an A or A* rising by 1.1 percentage points.
Southwark remained the highest-performing area on the measure, although its figure dipped slightly compared with 2025.
Across England, Guildford recorded the highest proportion overall, with 50 per cent of A-level entries awarded an A or A*.
The national figures show that Richmond upon Thames was second at 48.7 per cent, followed by Cheltenham at 47.7 per cent.
At the other end of the national table, Harlow had the lowest proportion of A-level entries receiving an A or A*, at 7.0 per cent.
The figures were published by Ofqual and measure A-level entries rather than individual pupils.
