A vital river crossing in south east London is facing a fresh round of overnight closures this month.
The Dartford Crossing, which links Essex and Kent via the QEII Bridge, will have overnight closures for maintenance and is the only road crossing over the Thames east of London.
It connects directly to the M25 at both ends.
National Highways is carrying out a long-term programme of repairs and maintenance work to ensure the crossing remains safe and reliable.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "Overnight closures of the Dartford west tunnel will resume this week to allow for essential maintenance work to the tunnel’s jet fans and lighting systems."
The work is part of an extensive scheme covering the A282 and the QEII Bridge.
The crossing is currently handling up to 180,000 vehicles per day, well above its original design capacity of 135,000 vehicles.
To minimise disruption, all work is being carried out overnight.
The following closures have been confirmed:
- Saturday, August 15: Dartford west tunnel, closed 10pm to 5.30am
- Sunday, August 16: Dartford east tunnel, closed 10.30pm to 5.30am (vehicles over 4.8m not permitted)
- Monday, August 17 to Thursday, August 20: Dartford west tunnel, closed 10pm to 5.30am
- Friday, August 21: Dartford west tunnel, closed 11pm to 6am (vehicles over 4.8m not permitted)
- Saturday, August 22: Dartford west tunnel, closed 10pm to 5.30am
- Sunday, August 23: Dartford east tunnel, closed 10.30pm to 5.30am (vehicles over 4.8m not permitted)
Drivers are reminded that closure dates and times are subject to change at short notice.
The Dartford Crossing consists of the QEII Bridge for southbound traffic and two 1.4km tunnels for northbound journeys.
It is a critical part of the region’s road network, linking Essex and Kent and supporting the movement of goods and people.
National Highways recommends checking for the latest updates before travelling.
