Fed up of cooking during the heatwave? Then look no further, as we have highlighted the best places to visit for a roast dinner this weekend.

From Deptford to Chislehurst, hungry readers have revealed their favourite spots for a Sunday roast.

Places include mouth-watering varieties of meat, fresh vegetables and fantastic selections of drink to top it all of.

South east Londoners shared their top picks for the best pub roast dinners, with the Dog & Bell, Brockley Jack, and Admiral Hardy among the recommendations.

One reader said: "The Great Exhibition in East Dulwich does a great roast. Also The Crown in Chislehurst."

Others were quick to recommend the Brockley Jack, praising its generous portions and roast potatoes.

Joanne Bioletti said: "Brockley Jack. The roasties are amazing, one dinner could feed three."

Further east, in Erith, another pub earned a glowing endorsement.

Tina Seymour said: "Running Horses in Erith."

The Royal Oak in Northumberland Heath and the Hope in West Norwood also made the list, along with Brew House in Sidcup and the Rose Inn in Plumstead.

Steve Hards said: "Sunday roast at the Dog & Bell Deptford is a must try."

Several readers named multiple favourites. Tom Sherlaw said: "Old Mill, Plumstead. Beautiful."

A few noted pubs that no longer serve traditional Sunday fare.

Ross Sutherland said: "Used to be The Prince Frederick but they stopped doing it."

Other favourites included the Bull on Sandy Lane, Antonella’s on Penge High Street, and the ever-popular Toby Carvery.
