More than 1,500 bus drivers are set to take part in industrial action over working conditions, with disruption expected across several south London routes.
The strikes involve drivers employed by Arriva London North and are also expected to affect services in north, east and central London.
Arriva London North drivers who are members of the Unite union are walking out in a dispute over working conditions following periods of hot weather.
The union has raised concerns about excessive temperatures inside bus cabs and the risks of heat exhaustion, dehydration and fatigue for drivers.

What is happening?
Around 1,500 drivers based at eight Arriva garages are expected to take part in the industrial action. The affected garages are in Barking, Edmonton, Enfield, Grays, Palmers Green, Stamford Hill, Tottenham and Wood Green.
A total of 40 bus routes are expected to be impacted by the strikes, including day routes, night buses, school services and parts of the Superloop.
Of those, seven routes serve south London destinations, reaching Battersea, Clapham Junction, London Bridge and Waterloo.
When are the strikes taking place?
The first strike period begins at 4am on August 14 and runs until 4.30am on August 15.
Further walkouts are scheduled:
- From 4am on August 18 until 4.30am on August 21
- From 4am on August 25 until 4.30am on August 28
- From 4am on September 4 until 4.30am on September 5
- From 4am on September 7 until 4.30am on September 8
- From 4am on September 18 until 4.30am on September 19
- From 4am on September 21 until 4.30am on September 22
- From 4am on October 2 until 4.30am on October 3
- From 4am on October 5 until 4.30am on October 6
- From 4am on October 16 until 4.30am on October 17
- From 4am on October 19 until 4.30am on October 20
Which South London bus routes are affected?
The following routes are the only affected services that operate into South London:
- 19 – Finsbury Park to Battersea Bridge
- N19 – Finsbury Park to Clapham Junction
- 76 – Tottenham Hale to Waterloo
- 141 – Palmers Green to London Bridge
- 149 – Edmonton Green to London Bridge
- 243 – Wood Green to Waterloo
- 341 – Northumberland Park/Meridian Water to Waterloo
