The Cockpit micropub in Chislehurst has added another major accolade to its growing collection of awards after being named CAMRA Greater London Pub of the Year 2026.
The popular pub, located on Royal Parade, opened its doors in December 2020 in the former Roses Florist premises. It is run by Adam Miller and Paul Steadman.
Over the years, the business has gained a reputation for the quality and condition of its cask ales and fine ciders, winning a number of awards and building a loyal following among real ale enthusiasts.
The latest honour follows a string of successes for the micropub, which was named Bromley CAMRA Pub of the Year earlier this year and was runner-up in the CAMRA Greater London Pub of the Year competition in both 2024 and 2025.
Since opening five years ago, The Cockpit has become a well-known destination for beer lovers, offering a regularly changing selection of cask beers alongside ciders, wines and spirits in its characterful former florist setting.
Reacting to the award, the team said they were "flabbersmacked" and "absolutely gobberghasted" to be recognised as Greater London's top pub.
They added: "Honoured to be rubbing shoulders with such a resplendent arsenal of boozers, let alone to be recognised by CAMRA as top of the pubs for Greater London this year.
"A sea-spanning embrace to everyone that has supported us since opening five years ago. So many of you have invested a titanic amount of enthusiasm into what we love to do. It makes every day a joy.
"Above all, a pious curtsy to our team and everyone behind the scenes. The invigoration and zeal with which you approach each day is a constant vitalising tonic and a perpetual pleasure."
