A man who inflicted physical violence on a cat has been sentenced.
Marian Gabriel Vasca, 37, of Whitfield Road in Bexleyheath, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a cat name Nugget.
He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months on July 24.
The incident occurred on November 16 last year at Hurst Road when Vasca attacked a cat named Nugget, causing non-accidental injuries.
The court heard Vasca "knew or ought reasonably to have known" his actions would result in harm.

Vasca was ordered to pay £1,152.54 in compensation to Nugget's owner and a £154 surcharge to fund victim services by September 18, 2026.
In addition to the financial penalties, Vasca was disqualified from owning, keeping, or participating in the keeping of animals for five years.
This means he cannot be involved in any arrangement where he can control or influence the way animals are kept.
He will be required to attend up to a maximum of 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
The case was brought to court by the RSPCA.
