Seventy firefighters were called to tackle a grass fire in Orpington last night which scorched two hectares of woodland.
Ten fire engines were deployed the blaze yesterday (August 5) at 7.11pm after receiving multiple emergency calls for assistance.
The blaze broke out near Sandy Lane and burned through approximately two hectares of woodland.
Station Commander Anthony Lea, who attended the scene, said: "Firefighters worked hard to swiftly contain this fire, which affected around two hectares of woodland, preventing the spread of the fire to a nearby business."
No injuries were reported.

Elsewhere, crews spent two hours tackling a grass fire in Romford that damaged around three hectares of grassland near Hainault Road.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to the blaze, which was extinguished shortly after 3pm yesterday.
Another grass fire broke out on Woolwich Common, with six fire engines and 40 firefighters sent to the scene.
The incident comes just a day after a major blaze on Woolwich Common destroyed around two hectares of grass and shrubland on Tuesday (August 4).
