A café has been left badly damaged following a fire.

Kynd Café in Sydenham sustained major damage to the rear of its premises and its entire garden in the blaze.

In a statement, Tatiana and Elena said: "While we’re incredibly grateful that our team and neighbours are all safe, the reality of what’s been lost is heartbreaking."

The pair described the venue as a "labour of love" and thanked the community for making it part of their daily lives.

A fundraising campaign has been launched to help rebuild the damaged areas and support efforts to reopen.

They said: "If you’re able to support us, your donation will help us rebuild the damaged part of our café and take the first steps towards reopening.

"If you’re not in a position to donate we fully understand, simply sharing this fundraiser with friends, family, or on social media would mean the world to us."

The GoFundMe can be found on the website.
