A CHILDREN'S centre in Thamesmead has been brightened up by a new lick of paint thanks to volunteers.
The painting challenge at Waterway's Children's Centre, in Southwood Road, Thamesmead, co-ordinated by the Abbey Wood and Thamesmead volunteering project, was taken up by 27 people.
Volunteers painted cartoon characters all over the walls of the playroom, built a new sign for the centre and painted alphabet games on the playground.
At the end of the day everyone who had taken part was presented with a certificate by nursery manager Shirley Golbourne.
