A total of 26 McDonald's restaurants across Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham and surrounding areas have all been awarded five stars by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

A five-star rating means hygiene standards were found to be "very good" at the time of inspection.

Among the restaurants to receive the top rating are branches in Bexleyheath, Sidcup, Erith, Crayford, Welling, Bromley, Orpington, Penge, Woolwich, Eltham, Greenwich, Charlton, Lewisham and Catford.

The most recently inspected branch was the McDonald's on Bellegrove Road in Welling, which retained its five-star rating following an inspection on July 6, 2026.

Other recently inspected restaurants include:

  • Twin Tumps Way, Thamesmead (June 18, 2026)
  • Crescent Arcade, Greenwich (April 30, 2026)
  • Ruston Road, Woolwich (March 5, 2026)
  • Market Square, Bromley (April 16, 2026)

Food hygiene ratings range from 0 to 5, with five being the highest possible score.

Inspectors assess businesses on:

  • How hygienically food is handled
  • The cleanliness and condition of facilities
  • How food safety is managed to ensure it is safe to eat

The ratings reflect standards at the time of inspection.

Residents can check the latest hygiene rating for any food business using the Food Standards Agency's online checker.
