Data has revealed the most popular Lewisham primary schools for the academic year of 2026 -2027.
The latest figures from the Department for Education compare how many applications each school received against the number of places available for reception entry.
They provide an overview of where demand was strongest, as well as highlighting schools that still had unfilled places following allocations for the 2026-27 academic year.
Below is a table ranking all Lewisham primary schools, from the most oversubscribed to those with the most available places, including the proportion of successful and unsuccessful applicants.
Here's the list:
At a number of schools, the level of interest was higher than the places available, meaning some families missed out on their preferred choice.
In these situations, admissions are determined using each school’s criteria, which can include factors such as proximity to the school, whether a child has a sibling already enrolled, and designated catchment areas.
Elsewhere, some schools saw fewer applications than the number of places on offer, leaving unfilled spots after the initial allocation process.
Demand differs considerably across Lewisham, with a range of factors – including location, transport links and Ofsted ratings – playing a role in how sought-after a school is.
