The victim of a fatal assault in Bermondsey has been named and pictured for the first time by police.

Terry Wilding, 43, died after being admitted to hospital with serious head injuries on Wednesday (June 10).

The London Ambulance Service contacted the Metropolitan Police at around 12.30pm after Mr Wilding was taken in for treatment.

Early enquiries indicated he had been assaulted inside a property in Cadbury Way.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he died later that night.

His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday (June 11).

He was remanded in custody and appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Saturday (June 13).

The investigation remains ongoing.
