A Kent drug dealer, who tried to destroy evidence during his arrest, has been jailed after being caught with more than 20 wraps of cocaine during a police raid.
Tallanius Bridgland was arrested at his home in Deal on March 23, 2021, when officers executed a warrant at his Freeman’s Way address.
On entry, the now-31-year-old tried to hide in the kitchen and began breaking his mobile phone in an attempt to destroy evidence.
He was detained and found with 22 individual wraps of cocaine.
During his arrest, he claimed the drugs were for personal use.
Further searches revealed 93 packets of cannabis edibles and several bank cards that did not belong to him.
Detective Constable Stacey Edwards said: "This was a complex investigation involving drug supply and elements of financial crime, and I am pleased that we were able to secure a custodial sentence.
"It was clear that Bridgland was willing to exploit others for his own criminality and greed.
"Bridgland is a prolific offender in the Deal area, and his return to prison will remove him from our community and prevent him from causing further harm."
An investigation found the bank cards had been used in suspicious transactions involving about £50,000.
A mobile phone linked to Bridgland contained images and videos of drugs, including footage of cannabis edibles similar to those seized.
Bridgland was charged with possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and concealing criminal property.
He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to two years in prison at Canterbury Crown Court on June 10.
