A second man has been charged with murder after an assault in Lewisham.
The Metropolitan Police was called at around 4.40am on May 24 to reports of a fight on Lewisham High Street.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a 41-year-old man with a serious head injury.
The man, identified as Taiwo Ekerin, was taken to hospital, but was pronounced dead less than a week later on May 30.
His next-of-kin is being supported by specialist officers.
Chibueze Chukwurah, of Royston Road in Glasgow, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday (June 5) and was charged on Sunday (June 7).
The 34-year-old appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (June 8) and will appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow (June 10).
He is the second man to be charged after Maxwell Oguanaya, of Eastfield Road in Enfield, was charged on the same day.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey today (June 9).
