Doorbell footage shows the moment a south London man stamped on his dog.
Leslie Hill, 61, has been banned from keeping animals for nine years after he was prosecuted for failing to ensure the welfare of his dog Darcy.
The RSPCA brought the prosecution after it received footage showing Hill abusing the dog outside his home in Longley Street on September 29 last year.
Video shows Hill stamping on the bull breed dog on the doorstep of the property, causing it to yelp in pain.
Further footage from inside the communal entrance hall shows him stamping twice more on the dog’s head - we are not publishing the second video due to its distressing nature.
On May 21, Hill was sentenced at Croydon Magistrates’ Court after he pleaded guilty to an offence under the Animal Welfare Act.
Alongside the nine-year ban, Hill was fined £200 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and prosecution costs of £85.
He was also handed a community order requiring him to complete up to 20 days of rehabilitation activities.
The court ordered that the sum of £399 be deducted from his benefits.
Hill was formally deprived of ownership of Darcy.
