Two men injured in a fatal Peckham stabbing remain in hospital, with one fighting for his life.
Police were called just before 4am yesterday (April 6) to reports of a disturbance involving a group of people outside a nightclub on Ruby Street.
Upon arrival, officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found 26-year-old Aurelio Mejia, who died at the scene.
Two other men were also found injured at the scene.
One man, aged 24, was taken to the hospital, where his condition was initially assessed as not life-threatening.
He has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The other man, aged in his 20s, remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
A Met spokesperson said: “Our thoughts remain with Aurelio’s family, who have suffered a terrible loss.
“We are continuing with our enquiries into this matter.
"As part of this, residents may notice an increased police presence in the local area.
“Given the circumstances of this incident – which occurred outside a busy nightclub – the investigation team believe there may have been many relevant witnesses.
“We urge anyone who has any information, dashcam or mobile phone footage which could support the investigation to contact us."
